CALPE
The
Town's best known feature is the Peņon
de Ifach, a massive rock rising over 300 metres from
the sea. A Nature Reserve since 1987, the Ifach divides the Calpe
coastline into two beautiful sheltered bays.
In
Calpe itself there are restaurants catering for all tastes. A must
is the Old Town,
which is well worth visiting. In the Old Town you will find old
churches, picturesque architecture, museums, tapas bars and restaurants
and friendly residents to make you feel welcome. In the summer there
is live entertainment, art and craft exhibitions and workshops.
There
are street markets on Saturday and Tuesday Mornings in Altea a few
kilometres down the coast. If shopping is not your thing there are
Golf Courses, Marinas, Vineyards and in season the blossom of the
olive trees in the nearby Jalon Valley,
with bodegas and wine tasting - something to interest everyone.
Around
Calpe there are many delightful beaches. See some of the beaches
